Following the recommendations of the authorities for the coronavirus pandemic, SARA Pharm has taken the necessary measures to ensure the continuity of its activity. The current projects are on-going. The laboratory is operational and the necessary precautions have been taken to allow the safe reception of samples. We do not foresee any impact on our activity to date. In the event of an evolution, we will not fail to keep you informed.

Technical Team

Corina Manta is part of SARA Pharm team since 2012. Corina successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis in 2012 at University “Politehnica” of Bucharest – Faculty of Applied Chemistry and Materials Science. In SARA Pharm’slaboratory Corina is performing all types of analyses, involving polymorph screening, salt screening etc., such as: DSC, XRPD, TG, PLM, HPLC, KF analysis.

Adrian Barbatu joined SARA Pharm in May 2016. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Politehnica University of Bucharest. He had an Erasmus scholarship at Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain, and he won several prizes at national chemistry contests. At SARA Pharm Adrian is involved in the solid state studies that  the company  performs, including polymorph screening, salt screening, amorphous solid dispersions etc. His main interests are HPLC and XRPD analyses.

Lucian is a chemist here at SARA Pharm and he has been with us since October 2012. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from “Politehnica” University of Bucharest, specializing in Organic Chemistry. His main interests are the synthesis and characterization of metallic nanoparticles and thermogravimetric analysis.

Daniel Gherca joined SARA Pharm in December 2015 as Research Scientist. In 2013 he successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis in Chemistry at “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi, Romania. Before joining SARA Pharm, he was working as postdoctoral researcher in Department of Hybrid Nanostructures, Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FO.R.T.H.), Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser (I.E.S.L.), Heraklion, Crete, Greece in the field of nanotechnology focusing on development of functional surfaces for particular applications. In SARA Pharm`s laboratory he perform experiments to monitor fundamental physico-chemical properties of small molecule drugs using DSC, TGA, XRPD, DVS, FTIR, Raman, and others.

Dumitru Samohvalov joined SARA Pharm in January 2017. He has Master degree in Science from Moldova State University, Department of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. Between 2013-2016, Dumitru has been Ph. D. candidate in solid-state physico-chemistry at Université de Bordeaux, Centre de Recherche Paul Pascal, Bordeaux, France. In SARA Pharm’s laboratory he is performing experiments and physico-chemical analyses which involve polymorphic transitions of small molecule drugs. His competences include SCXRD, XRPD, NMR, FT-IR, TG, DSC and other analysis techniques.

Andreea Lungan has joined SARA Pharm in April 2018 as Research Scientist. Andreea was granted two Erasmus Socrates scholarships at “Heinrich Heine” University, Dusseldorf, Germany, studying high performance macromolecular materials. In 2014 she successfully defended hed PhD thesis in Material Engineering at “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi, Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Protection. During her doctoral studies she collaborated with “Petru Poni” Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, Department of Functional Polymers, working on controlled drug delivery systems.
