COVID 19

Following the recommendations of the authorities for the coronavirus pandemic, SARA Pharm has taken the necessary measures to ensure the continuity of its activity. The current projects are on-going. The laboratory is operational and the necessary precautions have been taken to allow the safe reception of samples. We do not foresee any impact on our activity to date. In the event of an evolution, we will not fail to keep you informed.

Team

Eugenia Mihalcea is the Chairman & CEO and co-founder of SARA Pharm Solutions. Having gained her engineer degree in the field of Petrochemistry at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, she later went on to train as a Scientific Officer with The National Institute for Research & Development – ZECASIN, Romania, and the Chemical Engineering Department of the Polytechnic University of Bucharest. She has lead a successful career while simultaneously developing a strong business background as the General Manager of SARA Industries SRL, a company providing high tech equipment for various industrial applications.

Ioan Mihalcea is the Chief Commercial Officer and co-founder of SARA Pharm Solutions. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, Romania. Before joining SARA Pharm Solutions, Ioan has worked as Sales Manager with TAROM Romanian Airlines, and later on was promoted to Communication Specialist. Ioan aims to establish a wealthy customer base for the company.

Corina-Mihaela Manta, Dr. Eng. (Technical Director)

Corina Manta is part of SARA Pharm team since 2012. She is currently Technical Director at SARA Pharm Solutions, Bucharest, Romania. She received her M.Sc. degree in Advanced Separation and Purification in 2011 and defended her Ph.D in 2012 from University “Politehnica” of Bucharest, Faculty of Applied Chemistry and Materials Science, Chemical Engineering Department. Her expertise includes solid state pharmaceuticals, optimization process, analytical techniques and organic synthesis. Also, she has expertise in project management and implementation (POS CCE SARELCAT SMIS Code 45567 and as Project Responsible in AMD-FARMA-MED project, SMIS Code 105725 in collaboration with National Institute of Materials Physics). Currently she is involved as Project Responsible in H2020-MSCA-RISE-2017 (CLATHROPROBES 778245). Corina was awarded in 2019 a MARIE SKŁODOWSKA-CURIE Fellowship as part of the EU-funded CLATHROPROBES project. Also, she obtained in 2020 a graduation certificate as a quality auditor (COR 214130) recognized by Ministry of Education and Research and Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, respectively.

 

Adrian Barbatu, Dr. Eng.

Adrian Barbatu joined SARA Pharm in May 2016. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Politehnica University of Bucharest. He had an Erasmus scholarship at Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain, and he won several prizes at national chemistry contests. At SARA Pharm Adrian is involved in the solid state studies that  the company  performs, including polymorph screening, salt screening, amorphous solid dispersions etc. His main interests are HPLC and PXRD analyses. He was involved as sub-activity 2 responsable in AMD-FARMA-MED project, SMIS Code 105725 in collaboration with National Institute of Materials Physics). Currently, he is involved in H2020-MSCA-RISE-2017 (CLATHROPROBES 778245). Adrian was awarded in 2018 a MARIE SKŁODOWSKA-CURIE Fellowship as part of the EU-funded CLATHROPROBES project.

 

Maria-Andreea Lungan, Dr. Eng.

Andreea Lungan joined SARA Pharm in April 2018 as Research Scientist. Andreea was granted two Erasmus Socrates scholarships at “Heinrich Heine” University, Dusseldorf, Germany, studying high performance macromolecular materials. In 2014 she successfully defended her PhD thesis in Material Engineering at “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi, Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Protection. During her doctoral studies she collaborated with “Petru Poni” Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, Department of Functional Polymers, working on controlled drug delivery systems. She was involved as sub-activity 1 responsable in AMD-FARMA-MED project, SMIS Code 105725 in collaboration with National Institute of Materials Physics). Currently, she is involved in H2020-MSCA-RISE-2017 (CLATHROPROBES 778245). Andreea was awarded in 2019 a MARIE SKŁODOWSKA-CURIE Fellowship as part of the EU-funded CLATHROPROBES project.

 

Dumitru Samohvalov, Chemist

Dumitru Samohvalov joined SARA Pharm in January 2017. He has Master degree in Science from Moldova State University, Department of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. Between 2013-2016, Dumitru has been Ph. D. candidate in solid-state physico-chemistry at Université de Bordeaux, Centre de Recherche Paul Pascal, Bordeaux, France. In SARA Pharm’s laboratory he is performing experiments and physico-chemical analyses which involve polymorphic transitions of small molecule drugs. His competences include SC-XRD, PXRD, NMR, FT-IR, TG, DSC and other analysis techniques. He was involved in AMD-FARMA-MED project, SMIS Code 105725 in collaboration with National Institute of Materials Physics). Currently, he is involved in H2020-MSCA-RISE-2017 (CLATHROPROBES 778245). Dumitru was awarded in 2018 a MARIE SKŁODOWSKA-CURIE Fellowship as part of the EU-funded CLATHROPROBES project.

 

Oana Parpala, Business Development Manager

Oana Parpala is part of SARA Pharm team since 2015 as Business Development Manager. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Bank Financial Management from University of Craiova. She is in charge of promoting SARA Pharm’s capabilities, increase the portfolio  and maintain good relationship with the customers. She attends association exhibitions such as CPhI Worldwide, together with technical staff,  in order  to meet  the company’s clients or identify new potential collaboration opportunities.
